The highly-anticipated sequel to the first Wicked movie, Wicked: For Good, is now making its way to cinemas across the UK.
Excited musical theatre fans will be coming out in droves to watch the film, and they are also wondering how long to stay after the credits roll.
Those familiar with the musical will remember various plot points from part 2, while other fans watching the story for the first time are in for some exciting twists and turns.
So without further ado, let’s break down Wicked: For Good’s runtime, plot, viewing options and whether there is a post-credits scene afterwards.
Wicked: For Good sees Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo return as old friends Glinda and Elphaba, who have taken very different paths since leaving Shiz University.
Elphaba has become a social outcast, with Ozian’s calling her The Wicked Witch of the West.
Meanwhile, Glinda is more popular than ever, living at the palace in Emerald City as a symbol of Goodness for the people of Oz.
The pair must navigate heartbreak, betrayal and the importance of their singular friendship as they attempt, in their own way, to change Oz for good.
The runtime of Wicked: For Good clocks in at 2 hours and 18 minutes.
This is a shorter runtime than that of its predecessor, Wicked: Part 1, which lasts 2 hours and 40 minutes.
The fact that the sequel film is shorter comes as no surprise, as the same holds true for the original Broadway musical.
Act 1 of the stage production of Wicked is approximately 90 minutes long, while Act 2 lasts around 60 minutes.
The whole show clocks in at about 2 hours and 45 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.
The ending of Wicked: For Good wraps up most mysteries and major storylines, though it does appear to leave the door open to a third film, should Jon M. Chu and the team want to pursue it.
However, we can confirm that there is no end credit scene, which means fans can either stay to enjoy the music and watch the credits roll or simply leave the theatre right when the movie ends.
Wicked: For Good is available to watch now, exclusively in cinemas.
Unfortunately, Wicked: For Good is not available to watch on any streaming service yet, so you might be waiting a while if you want to stream it at home.
