This newly released horror has been praised for its « unpredictability » and it has a near-perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Final Desintation: Bloodlines is the most recent installment of the franchise, which last released a movie more than 10 years ago.

The comeback has been widley praised despite the franchise facing largely mixed reviews in the past.

Final Destination’s premise is to explore the consequences that follow when defying fate and attempting to escape death. It uses premonitions as a means to introduce a group of characters that find death to have a personal vendetta against them. The films are extremely gory and the methods of death rather inventive.

The film’s synopsis reads: « Plagued by a violent and recurring nightmare, a college student heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle of death and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all. »

Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Final Destination: Bloodlines stars Tony Todd, Brec Bassinger, Richard Harmon, Teo Briones, Owen Joyner, April Telek and Anna Lore.

Variety praised the film, stating: « Clever, unpredictable and fun, Final Destination: Bloodlines offers the series a transfusion of creativity that virtually guarantees that it will live to kill again. »

Final Destination: Bloodlines has received a score of 92% from the Rotten Tomatoes critics.

The critics consensus reads: « Adding some surprising emotional layers onto the ghoulish bones of Final Destination’s mythology, Bloodlines ingeniously executes grisly set pieces with precision and turns impending doom into outrageous fun. »

The audience reviewers rate the film slightly lower at 88%, with the consensus stating: « Defibrillating the franchise into one of its bloodiest installments yet while still supplying an emotional punch, Final Destination Bloodlines proves that ingenious death runs through its veins. »

With the original Final Destination movie rating at 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, the franchise has come a long way, nearly doubling in its score.
