Sky TV customers have been given the exact date they will be given access to new streaming service HBO Max at no extra cost on their existing TV packages.
HBO Max is a brand new streaming service launching in the UK in March. The app, owned by Warner Bros Discovery, is the prestige TV brand behind big hitters like Game of Thrones, Succession, The Last Of Us and The White Lotus.
Currently, Sky TV customers have been able to watch HBO’s output on Sky Atlantic, a Sky channel which shows HBO content in the UK. Apart from Bluray and DVD releases, this is the only way to watch shows like The Last Of Us in the UK. This is included in Sky’s cheapest TV package, Sky TV Essentials, which starts at £15 per month and also includes Netflix with ads.
From March 26, HBO is launching its own dedicated streaming service in the UK, but Sky customers have been assured that they will be able to continue to watch HBO shows via their existing TV packages at no extra cost.
