
Nationwide has said it wants to give one group of customers up to £280 each in free bonuses. The world’s largest building society said on Tuesday, July 1, that some new members will receive £100 cashback, a well as £120 in vouchers, and up to £60 more for referrals.
Nationwide said it is once again offering the boosts with its FlexStudent current account, for students in their first year of university. The account « attracted more than a quarter of the student current account market last year », according to Nationwide, and comes with an interest and fee-free arranged overdraft of up to £1,000 in the first year, £2,000 in the second year, and £3,000 in year three, as well as commission-free purchases and cash withdrawals abroad.
To receive the incentives students must apply for a FlexStudent account from today and deposit £500 by December 2025, for example the first instalment of a student loan. Within 14 days of the money being put in the account, students will receive the £100 cashback.
Eligible accounts will also receive a £10 Just Eat voucher code every month, for the first 12 months of the account being open. These can be used online and access will be provided within 14 days of the student becoming eligible.
Students can also get an extra £40 in vouchers for successfully referring two friends, £20 each, while the friend also pockets £20. And those with a FlexStudent account will have exclusive access to FlexGraduate, a post-university current account with an interest-free, fee-free arranged overdraft « designed to help students find their feet after university, allowing them time to pay off their overdraft once their course has finished ».
Students can get up to £280 worth of bonuses with the account: £20 when a friend refers them, plus £100 cashback, £120 of Just Eat Vouchers, refers two friends successfully x2 £20 Just Eat vouchers.
