The one thing most engaged couples want is for their wedding day to go by perfectly without any unexpected problems or situations.
From deliveries going wrong to dresses getting stained or the weather not looking the way you wanted it to, a lot of things can go wrong on your wedding day. While most of these issues are insignificant in the big picture, they can seem like a disaster in the moment.
So when your partner leaves you alone at the alter, you’re sure to have a lot of thoughts spinning around in your head.
This was the case for one bride named Lily Digby, who was left in shock when her partner decided to go off-script when reading his vows to his bride.
In a video posted on TikTok, the man started off reading from his small book with his vows, he soon closed it and went to grab something from the inner pocket of his suit jacket.
While the item in question is not clear for the viewers of the video, it has left the bride stunned as she takes it in her hands to look at it closer.
She then looks back up to her husband-to-be in disbelief as he reveals another item from his pocket before handing it to Lily and running away from the altar with an excited smile on his face. A few moment later, the bride’s jaw drops as she spots her partner return.
The camera then pans to the man, who is carrying a small vizla puppy in his arms as he walks back towards Lily. He then hands the puppy to her as she’s allowing the dog to say hi to her new mummy – which included having a taste of a strand of her hair.
The video then cut to show photos captured of the moment as well as from after the ceremony where Lily was able to properly say hi and cuddle up to her new puppy.
The couple ended up naming their new pup Rue, and has since created a TikTok account dedicated to the dog. In the caption of the video, which was posted on Rue’s account, Lily clarified: « He handed me a collar with her name on it and a Polaroid picture. »
People quickly took to the comment section of the video to share their thoughts, with many obsessing over how cute the moment was.
« The way that dog immediately knew who her person was, » one person said. Someone else wrote: « ‘You may now kiss… the puppy’ I love this. »
« This is the only time a groom could possible run away and survive to tell the tale, » a third person said.
While most people thought the moment was cute, some also said they’d prefer to have the surprise happen after the ceremony, or even after the wedding.
One person argued: « Oh I love how every single female is pretending they’d love this. I mean, so you all genuinely imagined getting a f***ing PUPPY while you were in your princess bridal dress with your perfect hair that the dog is scratching at and destroying?!? This is an AFTER wedding gift. »
