It’s great news for horror fans: an insanely chilling psychological horror film has been recently added to Netflix. The film Us, by Jordan Peele, hit headlines in 2019, the year of its release, gripping audiences and critics alike with its incredible cast, thought-provoking storyline, and dramatic plot twists. Not to mention, the film sends absolute chills down the spine.

The film’s synopsis on Rotten Tomatoes, where it holds an impressive 93% score, reads: « Accompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen.

« Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, the family is horrified to learn that each attacker takes the appearance of one of them. »

Film critics and fans have sung the praises of the horror which stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker, with one fan writing: « Once again, Jordan Peele leaves us with a thought-provoking, horrifying masterpiece ».

Another, who gave it a full five stars, said: « I absolutely loved Us! Watched it multiple times and still got chills every single round. The story, the symbolism, the creepy atmosphere — everything just hits perfectly.

« Jordan Peele really knows how to mess with your mind in the best possible way. This kind of movie is totally my thing — weird, smart, and deeply unsettling. 10/10 — Pure genius. I could watch it again and again. »

Multiple viewers even crowned Peele’s film as the best scary film they have ever seen, while another said that the film is « outstanding » while wishing they « had seen it sooner ».
