Cold weather combined with central heating can dry skin out, make it appear dull, and feel sensitive and tight. If the winter months have wreaked havoc on your skin, you might want to consider adding hydrating products to your skincare routine. Liz Earle’s Superskin range claims to help, and we’ve found a trio of products to try for 50% off at QVC.

The Liz Earle Superskin Collection includes three full-size products. Typically retailing at £102, the set has been reduced to £51 at QCV, which we think is brilliant value considering the moisturiser included is currently retailing for £47.25 on its own at Liz Earle’s website.

The kit contains a cleansing balm, brightening essence and moisturiser along with a face cloth, making up a simple hydrating routine. If you’re already a Liz Earle fan but not familiar with the Superskin range, this is a great way to try something new while staying loyal to the brand, but the set is also great for skincare enthusiasts looking for some new staple products.

According to the brand, the Superskin range has been formulated with antioxidant rosehip oil to nourish the skin, and acacia tree extract, which mimics the benefits of collagen to address the appearance of lines and roughness and leave skin feeling plumper.

To start you off with a clean canvas, the set includes a 100ml Superskin Advanced Nourishing Cleansing Balm (worth £39), along with a cloth. If you like Liz Earle’s classic Cleanse and Polish cleanser, this might be a welcome upgrade. The balm emulsifies into a milk with water, which can then be wiped off using the cloth.

The formula blends the core Superskin ingredients with pomegranate and cranberry seed oils, which the brand claims help nourish and support skin while cleansing. It’s also scented with neroli and rose for an aromatherapy touch.

Shoppers on Liz Earle’s website are loving the balm, with one saying:  » This is a game changer for my 76-year-old complexion. »

Another said: « It’s easy to use and the soft cotton towel cloth it came with is just heaven. You don’t need much and I find the balm and towelling cloth much gentler on my mature skin than [the] Cleanse and Polish duo I have used for years. »

A third review said: « I use it at night as it removes all traces of makeup, leaving my skin feeling soft and glowing. The texture is very silky and a little goes a long way. »

The second step to this skincare routine is the Superskin Advanced Brightening Essence (£26), which is essentially a lighter version of a toner, to be used after cleansing but before moisturising. It has a bi-phase formula with pomegranate oil, which claims to help skin appear smoother and firmer.

Many shoppers said the essence was kind to their mature skin, with one saying: « I’m elderly so have dry mature skin but I find Superskin Advanced adds a little plumpness to my face…Recommend for mature skin. »

However, another shopper pointed out it may not be suitable for sensitive skin types, saying: « Have persevered with Liz Earle’s new advanced brightening essence for a few months now and sadly it just brings me out in spots. I have mature sun-damaged skin and can see a slight reduction in age-related dark patches. Not sure if it’s the oiliness or an ingredient that my skin doesn’t tolerate well. »

To seal it all in, the set also includes a Superskin Moisturiser in a 75ml size (worth £67.50) and shoppers can choose between the original formula for more sensitive skin, or one with natural neroli.

The moisturiser contains antioxidant pomegranate flower, cranberry and rosehip oils, alongside nourishing borage seed oil, repairing vitamin E and shea butter. The brand says it can help mature skin appear brighter and softer, and can be used on its own or under makeup. The neroli formula also contains some neroli, lavandin and chamomile essential oils.

Reviews for both formulas are glowing, with a fan of the classic formula saying: « Have used this moisturiser for a number of years. Ideal for the more mature skin. Has a lovely soft silky texture that glides on smoothly easily absorbs and leaves skin feeling silky soft. »

But the neroli formula was also a hit, with one shopper saying: « I use this regularly as I have dry mature skin! I also live in NE Scotland where the weather can be challenging. My skin needs a good moisturiser, especially in the winter, and this is it. »
