When we get into certain rhythms we adopt certain practices that may not actually be the best methods. Luckily for us, a professional housekeeper has shared her secret to perfectly cleaning the toilet, so that’s one thing we should be able to nail.
TikTok user vanesamaro91 said simple mistakes often lead to people missing a key area of the loo. To begin, she said you need to make sure you put gloves on, and then you actually need to remove the toilet seat before doing anything else.
She then pops the seat into a shower before spraying it with some bleach cleaner. Once this is done, you can put toilet cleaner down the toilet.
You need to give it some time to « allow it work » when you carry on cleaning elsewhere. It turns out there’s a lot more to it than you thought.
She starts bleaching the area where the seat has been removed. This allows her to get rid of the rusty marks that gather around where the seat attaches to the bowl.
She also rinses the area to make sure it’s left super clean before washing the toilet bowl with the product she’s allowed to settle. The expert simply uses the toilet brush to scrub it into the bowl before washing it all away.
After this is done, she focuses on the bottom of the toilet around the area that’s attached to the floor. She sprays it with product, and wipes the area with a paper towel to ensure she gets rid of any dust that’s gathered.
In the clip, she said it’s important to focus on the area where the toilet meets the floor, and you should clean it until the yellow stains are removed. After this is done, she ensures the toilet seat is clean before re-attaching it.
