He was dumped in a park with his bed and blanket, but one poor pooch has no idea what he did wrong to deserve such treatment.
The dog, called Furby, has touched hearts worldwide after being found by a Houston rescue team, with people flooding in with adoption applications upon seeing his sorrowful expression.
Detailing his plight on TikTok, user @bristexastails revealed: « Today, I experienced a new side of animal rescue – street feeding.
« Over the past decade, I’ve rescued many stray dogs, but this was my first time joining a rescue route focused on helping animals directly on the streets. A good friend invited me to accompany her, and the very first dog we encountered touched my heart deeply.
« This sweet baby boy was found abandoned at a popular dumping spot, left with his bed and water bowl.

@bristexastails Today I went to experience a new side of rescue. I’ve picked up many strays over the past decade but I’ve never gone street feeding. A good friend let me join her on her route and this baby is the very first dog we came upon. He was dumped with his bed and water bowl at a very popular dumping site. I’m so thankful @Pippy’s Pals said yes let’s take him because I can’t imagine what the streets are like for a dog who is so young and unaware of how to survive on his own. We will never know why his owner decided to dump him but he’s safe now and is going to live a great life from here on out! ?????? She continued by explaining how her friend, referred to as @pippyspals, intervened to save him.
In the footage, poor Furby can be seen sitting beside his belongings with a devastated look on his face, appearing uncertain whether to stay put or roam about looking for his owner.
She concluded: « Now, he’s safe and will have a loving life ahead. It’s moments like these that remind me why rescue work is so important – giving vulnerable animals a second chance.
« We’ll never know the story behind his abandonment, but one thing is certain: from now on, he’s surrounded by care and compassion. Welcome to your new life, little one! ».
Responding to the post, one user said: « He stayed in that spot because his owner left him there. He probably thinks they might come back. Thinking about it makes me cry. »
Another user said: « I hate people. Poor baby. » A third user added: « He was so defeated. »
One more user wrote: « How can someone dump this angel? It broke my heart. »
Fortunately, Furby has now found a new home – and the rescue centre marked his fresh beginning with this announcement: « Furby is home! ».
« With well over 200 applications, he was a very popular boy, but we knew what he needed: a local family with a confident pup who could help Furby navigate the world.
« He is doing so well in his forever home, and we are just thrilled for this awesome family! ».
Responding to the update, a Facebook user said: « Yeah! Congratulations to all! » Another user added: « He finally got his happy ending. »
One more user said: « Good Furby. His story is heartbreaking. I hope he loves his new home. Thank you for giving him a new chance at life after his unfortunate start. »
