First look: Dyson’s Spot+Scrub Ai robot seeks out stains

The Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai Robot is the company’s first combination robot vacuum and mop. It debuted at Dyson’s Berlin store during the IFA tech show this week and is a follow-up to the company’s 360 VisNav robot vacuum, which launched in 2023. Featuring a new round design, a self-cleaning roller mop, lidar navigation, and Dyson’s first multifunctional dock, the Spot+Scrub also comes with an “AI” moniker because it’s 2025 and doesn’t everything?I spent some hands-on time with Dyson’s newest robot floor cleaner and came away underwhelmed. Dyson’s traditional vacuums set high expectations, but its robot versions have yet to meet them. I didn’t get to test the Spot+Scrub or see its stain-targeting feature in action, but my time with it didn’t convince me that Dyson has finally cracked the rob...

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 will get Xbox-flavored Windows in spring 2026

Lenovo spokesperson Jeff Witt tells me buyers will be able to manually switch the handheld to Xbox FSE after it’s ready in the spring 2026 time frame, months after the Legion Go 2’s launch next month. Asus will get the Xbox FSE far sooner on October 16th when it co-launches the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X with Microsoft, and then Microsoft’s “next focus” will be bringing it to the original Asus ROG Ally and Ally X.

Some Chromecasts are giving ‘Untrusted device’ errors today

Reports are cropping up today that second-generation Chromecasts and music-streaming Chromecast Audio devices are failing, displaying an error on the device they’re trying to cast from that seems to imply the streamers may no longer be supported, reports 9to5Google.Text from screenshots of the error posted to Reddit reads, “Untrusted device” and continues, saying the device “couldn’t be verified. This could be caused by outdated device firmware.” Understandably, people are concerned that Google has decided to send the streaming pucks, both quite old now, to the Google graveyard. As 9to5Google points out, the company hasn’t said it is deprecating the two, as it did for the original Chromecast in 2023. At least one member of the Chromecast community says they have reached out to Google sup...

Yellowjackets continues to stretch itself thin in season 3

The third season of Yellowjackets is a bit like getting lured back to the high school reunion that was delightfully fun the first time but eventually becomes an exercise in diminishing returns. Maybe it’s part of our soft human inability to let go of the past, especially coming-of-age drama that seems increasingly romantic and valid as we continue hurtling toward old age and (hopefully) painless deaths. Maybe it’s the misplaced optimism that middle-aged reunions will evoke some kind of sobering epiphany about lost youth or, god forbid, a painful opportunity for personal growth or redemption. Or maybe we just go for the free food and cheap wine while hubris rears its ugly head.Either way, these are not unique themes to Yellowjackets. We are not here for drawn-out hand-wringing and easy f...

Zoox robotaxi hands on: safe, but lagging

I’m standing outside a nondescript corporate office park in Las Vegas next to a box-shaped vehicle with no proper front or back. It’s got a set of sliding doors, no steering wheel, and touchpad controls. It’s bidirectional, meaning it can move in either direction without turning around. And to be completely frank, it looks more like an oversized toaster than an actual car. This is the second-generation Zoox robotaxi, a purpose-built autonomous shuttle that has been testing in and around Las Vegas for the last year and a half. Zoox, a subsidiary of Amazon, has been working on it for over a decade, and during this year’s CES, it finally let a few journalists take a ride.So far, the only robotaxis operating on public roads in the US are run by Alphabet’s Waymo. Others have tried but tend t...
