With the release of 28 Years Later in cinemas last weekend, film fans are revisiting modern zombie classics from the first to films to World War Z and Train to Busan.But there’s an underrated hidden gem out there that one reviewer called a “masterpiece” and it’s now streaming for free.English-language French film The Night Eats the World was released in 2018 and follows a man surviving a zombie apocalypse alone in a Parisian apartment building.The 90 minute movie features silent sprinting infected and despite being pre-COVID is certainly relatable to the isolation of lockdown.Featuring very little dialogue, this different take on the zombie genre is nonetheless gripping.The Night Eats the World is streaming on Amazon Prime Video and also for free on Plex and wedotv.
