Two years ago, Sir Michael Caine starred in The Great Escaper as a World War 2 veteran, in what was expected to be his last movie.The 92-year-old had all but retired, but in a surprise turn of events, he is headed back to the big screen once again to reprise a role.According to Deadline, Vin Diesel will star in a sequel to 2015’s The Last Witch Hunter, and Caine will return as the titular actor’s priestly mentor, Dolan.The original action fantasy movie followed Diesel’s immortal witch hunter as he sought to prevent a plague from spreading across the Earth.With 18 per cent positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, fans might be wondering how Caine was persuaded to return for a sequel to the critically panned adventure.
