Princess Kate channels The Traitors’ Claudia Winkleman in £30 gloves

Just days ago, Catherine, Princess of Wales, was spotted at the Guinness Six Nations 2026 rugby match between England and Ireland, and while the match itself was an exciting one, ultimately seeing England beaten, it wasn’t just the action on the pitch that captured royal watchers’ attention. Battling the cold conditions on the touchline, Princess Kate – who is patron of the Rugby Football Union – was seen looking elegant, as per usual, in an ensemble that was finished with a pair of navy leather gloves. And we couldn’t help but spot the resemblance to a certain BBC presenter’s signature style.

The Ladies Full Leather Gloves in French Navy retail at a reasonable £29.95 and are from House of Bruar, a heritage brand renowned for its traditional countryside essentials. It’s a label that will seem immediately familiar to viewers of The Traitors, as presenter Claudia Winkleman frequently wore items from the brand throughout the series.

Claudia’s styling on the popular BBC programme, curated by her long-time stylist Sinead McKeefry, has been a key player in the emergence of the ‘country core’ fashion movement, a look that combines rural-inspired garments with designer pieces. And Claudia is particularly known for regularly donning leather gloves (typically fingerless).

While Kate’s navy selection from House of Bruar may be subtle, it fits perfectly within that countryside aesthetic, being both practical and luxurious. With these gloves mirroring Claudia’s Traitors fashion, we’d like to think this means Kate is a fan of the BBC show – although we’ve not yet spotted her in any fingerless gloves from Brora (another signature style of Claudia’s).

Paired with an elegant navy coat from one of Kate’s favourite labels, Alexander McQueen, a compact navy handbag from DeMellier and an England rugby scarf, the Princess demonstrated easily that accessories don’t need to be big and brash to create an impact. At just £30, they offer a remarkably affordable means of emulating Kate’s royally-endorsed country aesthetic, reports the Mirror.

These gloves aren’t the only budget-friendly piece Princess Kate has sported recently. Only last week, Kate appeared at Castle Hill Academy to mark Children’s Mental Health Week wearing one of her most economical purchases.

Penny loafers are set to become one of spring’s dominant footwear trends, and the Princess championed British high street retailer Boden with her Nya Penny Loafers.
