Mother’s Day is getting closer, and it’s a good time to start looking for a gift so you’re not caught empty-handed come March 15. If you’re looking to treat your Mum (or any mother in your life) on her special day, a beauty gift set is always a good shout, and Boots has great offers on a few from No7 right now.

The dependable brand often curates a selection of fantastic gift sets that include everything you need to build a comprehensive skincare routine tailored to your skin’s specific needs, featuring products from its specialist collections. There are skincare and makeup sets, and some combine the two, but what’s inside each box varies.

The Ultimate Skincare Collection is one of our favourites, and it’s currently on sale with a healthy discount. It includes six full-sized products and three minis, covering the brand’s bestsellers, including a mixture of day and night creams and serums.

While the cost of buying each product individually would be £135, the set initially cost £85 but has since been discounted to £30 as part of a Boots No7 promotion.

The set is perfect for anyone in need of a little pick-me-up, and even though this is a Mother’s Day gift, the products inside aren’t particularly aimed at one age group or specific skin concern, so it will be easy to gift. It’s also a brilliant opportunity for brand faithfuls and skincare enthusiasts alike to try some products for a fraction of the price, or stock up on favourites.

Of course, if you’d rather focus on products from one line, Boots also has more gift sets on sale, like the Restore and Renew, Lift and Luminate range (£69.95 for the gift set) and the Future Renew range (£39.95 for the gift set).

Four products in this box come from the Protect and Perfect collection, which claims to target the first signs of ageing.

One of the full-size products inside is a cleansing water that can be used day and night. According to the brand, it can help exfoliate your skin, making it a more receptive base for serums and moisturisers.

There is also a day cream with SPF 15 to protect the skin, which also includes hyaluronic acid to hydrate, and a night cream from the same collection that contains a blend of antioxidant Vitamin E and nourishing shea butter.

A customer who uses both creams wrote in a review: “I have both night and day cream from this line. I cannot praise both of them, but let’s get to the Protect and Perfect Day Cream. It’s the perfect day cream, smooths and nourishes my skin perfectly, and I use a tiny amount to cover my whole face. The skin feels firmer, and my pigmentation diminishes gradually. My make-up stays on ideally. It’s a luxury product for a highly affordable price.”

You’ll also find an eye cream from the same range, which claims to brighten skin.

A fan of the eye cream gave it a five-star review online, saying: “I have used this eye cream for about six years now. I have tried high-end eye creams from brands such as Gatineau, Elemis, and Decleor, and none of them can beat this cream. It is not sticky or greasy, sinks in beautifully with gentle tapping around the eye, and delivers amazing results in a short time. The tube lasts for ages, and believe me, it is worth every penny.”

Added to the mix are a mini toner and a pack of biodegradable cleansing wipes that are super handy for on-the-go cleansing, and with spring just around the corner, they can simply be popped in your bag for trips away.

There are also two serums: one is formulated with retinol, a highly regarded ingredient in anti-ageing skincare, and the other is a damage-reversal serum from the Future Renew range. The latter can be used as part of your morning and evening routine, and is formulated to help with skin damage while you sleep.

This range is popular with women in their 50s and 60s, with one saying: “My skin looks younger, fresher, and has a much more even skin tone. Age spots have definitely faded, and I have had zero menopausal breakouts since I’ve been using it. I’ve genuinely had better results with this range than with skin products twice the price!”

Another customer wrote: “I have been using this now with the face and eye serums for about six months, and my skin has never been this good! Hardly a spot or a wrinkle considering I am 60.”

The last product in the box is a primer, which No7 says works in three different ways. It’s designed to create a smooth base for makeup without migrating into fine lines and wrinkles, and is enriched with brightening niacinamide to help give an even, dewy appearance. It also claims to help skin look lifted and firmer.

One shopper was impressed with the primer, saying: “My skin looked instantly illuminated, and after about 30 minutes, my face had a lifted appearance. The more you use it, the more sculpted your face appears. The formula has a beautiful, sparkling glow to it. I am so happy with it and couldn’t be without it now.”

Boots shoppers are pleased with the gift set, with many revealing they are repeat buyers. One wrote: “I bought this last year and this year again and is amazing value, the skin care makes my skin look so much younger, Im 41 now and everyone is saying I don’t look my age. So super happy with all this skincare set.”

Another said: “A lovely set which is great value for money. I adore No 7 products, and this set gave me a mixture of products I use every day – so know and trust – and new products which I am looking forward to trying. I liked it so much I bought a second set as a gift for a friend.”

However, one shopper alerted that not all the products might be suited for more sensitive skin, writing: “I would definitely not buy if you have sensitive skin. I used the toner day and night cream, and it burned my skin and made it very dry. It was a very bad reaction.”
