Guy Ritchie is confirmed to be working on a new thriller – and it’s basically guaranteed to be a “masterpiece”. The new black comedy show is titled Wife & Dog, and is set for release later in 2026, but we already have a few key details about the film, including that it stars acting greats including Benedict Cumberbatch and James Norton.

It will also feature Rosamund Pike, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Paddy Considine. It follows the “colourful, back-stabbing world of the British aristocracy”. In it, the Fairbank family find themselves locked in a battle of succession.

“And yeah, an extraordinary cast that I got to work with, and a very different ask for me to be the kind of geezer Tom Hardy, Jason Statham type role. It was a blast.”

He added that Ritchie was “very uncompromising” to work with, but said it’s “just very straightforward” and admitted: “He’s a lovely fellow. He’s great.”

The film is expected to be released on October 23rd – and it’s not the only Guy Ritchie film to hit cinemas this year. He’ll also be releasing new film In the Grey in 2026.

That film – also starring Rosamund Pike, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill – follows two extraction specialists who have to plan an escape for a high ranking female negotiator.

Filming took place in Tenerife, with various chase scenes filmed around a rural village and around the fishing docks.
