Ace Frehley was forced to cancel a show in California after he experienced a fall. The former KISS guitarist, 74, was forced to axe the gig after he suffered a « minor fall » in his studio. In a social media post shared by the rock guitarist’s Instagram page, he explained that he was forced to cancel the show on his 10,000 Volts Tour on doctor’s orders. He had released his last album, 10,000 Volts, in February 2024 and is expected to perform his next gig on October 10 in Decatur, Illinois. Frehley is best known as a founding member of the 1970s glam rock band, KISS, and was a major part of the group for 10 years before departing for a solo career.

His Instagram post said: « Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital. He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time. As a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California on Friday, September 26th. »

It concluded: « Please go to the fair to support his friends in QUIET RIOT and VIXEN, and Ace looks forward to continuing on his tour and finishing work on his next album, ‘Origins Vol. 4’. »

Devastated fans took to the comments section to wish the rockstar a speedy recovery. One person typed: « Ace, you don’t know me. I’m a faceless scream in the crowd. But I have been a fan since 1975. I’ve seen you from the rafters and in the front row. I wish you the best in recovery and beyond. »

A second also commented: « Now that’s a rockstar, not able to make a show but insists fans to go see other bands play. »

A third follower also echoed: « Rock Soldiers come, and Rock Soldiers go… Some hear the drum and some will never know! Hey Rock Soldiers…. Ace will be back and he tells us so. »

A fourth also commented: « Fell better soon! I fell Labor Day as well from second step ladder onto concrete. Still nursing hurt tailbone of all things. Get well soon Ace! »

Ace Frehley rejoined the band in the mid-1990s for a reunion tour, but was later replaced by Tommy Thayer in 2002.
