Sir Rod Stewart, 80, who shares sons Alistair and Aidan with his wife Penny Lancaster, 54, posted a photograph of the boys beaming with pride while watching him perform in the legends slot on Sunday at Glastonbury Festival.
Aidan was on Alistair’s shoulders for the high-energy set, which was praised by BBC viewers watching at home as they listened to the star perform hits like Maggie May and Do Ya Think I’m Sexy? For the huge concert, Alistair donned his father’s beloved Celtic football team shirt around his neck, which was fitting as Sir Rod opened his set with live Celtic music.
« Two of my precious children at @glastofest giving their old dad support. Alastair and Aiden. Love ya boys! » Sir Rod penned on Instagram to his 1.5 million followers.
The Sailing hitmaker is also the father of Sarah, 61; Kimberly, 45; Ruby, 37; and Renee, 33; and sons Sean, 44; and Liam, 30.
Fans flocked to comment on the snap, with one writing: « Proud of their Dad. It’s been great to watch them having a great time. »
Another said: « Brilliant photo! You were FABULOUS!!!! » A third remarked: « Extraordinary performance. I think you made Glastonbury. Proud sons, I am sure – I hope they know what you meant to us all as 1970s teenagers. »
Someone else echoed: « Rod, you were absolutely fantastic yesterday at Glastonbury. I am a Very Proud Fan! You are inspirational, and we all think of the world of you. »
Another wrote: « You were absolutely fantastic, and it was so heartwarming to see your family giving you so much love. »
Sir Rod’s Glastonbury set lasted for 90 minutes and included a guest performance from LuLu, 76.
The rocker changed three times during the concert and wore a white suit, followed by a bright pink suit and a green suit in his signature bold style.
