
Is it a racehorse or a drag queen? Whether you’re a devoted fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race or a regular at the racetrack, a playful new quiz is putting everyone’s knowledge to the test—challenging you to match outrageous names to their rightful owners.
The unique quiz, commissioned by Lottoland’s sportsbook ahead of Royal Ascot, ask you to guess which name belongs to who and it’s harder than you think.
Can you tell your Black Peppas from your Black Caviars? Would you expect to see Kitten’s Joy thundering down the track or sashaying across the stage?
It’s the perfect bit of fun for anyone who loves the theatre of the races or the drama of drag. Even seasoned punters and die-hard drag fans have been left scratching their heads, struggling to tell which names belongs to who.
A spokesperson for Lottoland said: “You may be surprised at just how tricky this quiz actually is, as not all Drag names are a saucy double entendre.”
The spokesperson added: “When you think about it, there’s lots of crossover between drag and horse racing – there’s lots of pageantry, and brightly-coloured outfits. All these names are iconic, but it is hard to tell the difference between them. »
To create the quiz, the team delved deep into the drag community, seeking out stars whose inventive names could easily be mistaken for champion race horses. Among the names that have stumped quiz-takers are Blu Hydrangea and Charity Kase.
“It’s not often these two worlds collide, but when they do it’s fabulous,” the spokesperson said. “We wanted to do something playful that brings together the glamour of drag and the spectacle of the sport. »
