As summer gives way to autumn, a host of seasonal favourites are making a comeback on supermarket shelves, including themed cupcakes and toffee apples.
Alongside these autumnal treats, budget supermarket Aldi has introduced a new snack that’s already a hit with the kids – Ginger Parkins.
For £1.19, you can get a pack of six snacks from Peters Craft Bakery, which taste like a cross between a slice of parkin and a traditional ginger nut biscuit.
Manchester Evening News reporter Emma Gill, after sampling this new treat, said: « I bought some to try and my son is obsessed. »
She added: « He’s a big fan of ginger nuts, but likes the chewier consistency of these, which can be found in the bread aisle near the crumpets, bagels and packs of brioche. »
« They’re not the only Aldi snack to impress us lately either.
« Its Holly Lane Cookie Dough Mini Bites recently made a welcome return to stores, as part of a range that also includes Caramel Crispy and Bubble Mint Rocky Road Mini Bites. »
Emma added: « And its Dairyfine Blonde Chocolate, which tastes remarkably like the Cadbury favourite Caramilk, has also been a huge hit. At £1.39 for a 160g bar – and a Crispy Blonde version also available – they’ve been flying off the shelves. »
