Fans have about a week to watch a masterpiece western before it leaves Netflix. Django Unchained will leave the streaming platform at the end of this month, with subscribers’ last chance to watch it on February 28. The two-hour and 45-minute film is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, and stars huge Hollywood names, including Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Released in 2012, Django Unchained is currently the highest-grossing Western of all time, and has been dubbed a masterpiece and one of the best of its kind. The film has a shining 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes, where you can find numerous positive reviews.

The film follows the journey of a freed slave who teams up with a bounty hunter to rescue his wife from a brutal plantation owner in the southern region of the US.

The synopsis on Rotten Tomatoes reads: “Two years before the Civil War, Django (Jamie Foxx), a slave, finds himself accompanying an unorthodox German bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) on a mission to capture the vicious Brittle brothers.

“Their mission successful, Schultz frees Django, and together they hunt the South’s most-wanted criminals. Their travels take them to the infamous plantation of shady Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), where Django’s long-lost wife (Kerry Washington) is still a slave.”

One fan of the film wrote on Rotten Tomatoes: “It is a masterpiece. I went through so many emotions in such a short time, and it even gave me goosebumps.”

Also calling it another masterpiece, another wrote: “God this movie is good. It’s a wild wild west masterpiece. Yeee hawwww”

One person who said they would recommend it “over and over” was blown away by the film, adding that they “was grasped from beginning to the end,” and praised the scriptwriter.

Among the numerous five-out-of-five reviews, fans made it clear that “you’re missing out if you don’t watch this”, while another stated that the film should be “considered a staple of the genre” and is “masterfully made”.

The last chance to watch Django Unchained on Netflix is February 28.
