Reds minor league team pulls new t-shirt after fans say graphic draws close resemblance to racial slur

A minor league baseball team discontinued selling a t-shirt it was after fans criticized the graphic for looking like a racial slur. The Chattanooga Lookouts, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, tried to combine its “Nooga” nickname and its logo of two eyes, and it did not go well. The team replaced the two O’s with their eyes logo, and fans thought it closely resembled the n-word. Butler University women’s soccer players file lawsuit alleging sexual assault by former school trainer

Three Butler University women’s soccer players filed lawsuits Wednesday in the U.S. District Court in Indianapolis, alleging former athletic trainer Michael Howell sexually abused them and that they were not the only ones he victimized.  The separate lawsuits detailed how Howell allegedly shared pornographic video clips and, for one of the players, threatened to reveal a picture he had with potentially damaging information to silence her.  Howell would also allegedly use hotel massages and special training sessions outside his daily work schedule “to build trust, isolate, and weaponized the young women’s desires to be the best athletes they could be,” according to the lawsuit. The lawsuits also claimed that Howell’s actions stemmed far beyond just their own experiences at t...

Angels take Shohei Ohtani off trade market despite impending free agency: report

The Los Angeles Angels are taking a huge risk. They have reportedly decided to not trade Shohei Ohtani and become buyers at the trade deadline. The risk? Ohtani is a free agent at season’s end, so they could be losing him at the end of the year for nothing. But Sports Illustrated reports that Los Angeles will take the gamble, despite fielding offers for the two-way superstar.
